Strong Fort Erie Neighbourhoods was the very happy recipient of a cheque for $1,000 generated by the Fort Erie Branch of PenFinancial’s annual Shed Day on September 18th. On Shred Day customers can bring in documents for safe, confidential shredding at no charge, instead being invited to make a donation to the branch’s chosen organization.
PenFinancial Credit Union is a certified B Corporation. This certification is granted only to businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance and public transparency. This certification reinforces that PenFinancial is committed to all its stakeholders, including the residents of Fort Erie, not just its shareholders.
Seen receiving the cheque is Martyn Cooper (SFEN) with, from left to right, Manager, Jamie Wittig, Maureen Murphy, Carrie McLennan from PenFinancial and SFEN volunteer Robert Perkins.
“We are thrilled to be chosen as this year’s beneficiary of Shed Day.” Catherine said. “The work we do in Fort Erie makes it a stronger community where people can thrive and reach their full potential.” Strong Fort Erie Neighbourhoods is a network of organizations and individuals who work together as a group to help Fort Erie residents overcome barriers to prosperity.
