About 23.74% of the Fort Erie population is made up of people who are over 65 years of age.
This is a higher proportion of people aged 65+ than for the Niagara region (21.39%), and Canada (16.89%).
Older Adults are welcome to attend community meals listed in “Food Programs for Families”. In addition, older adults can contact Meals-on-Wheels. Meals-on-Wheels delivers hot and/or frozen, nutritionally-balanced meals to eligible individuals over the noon hour. This service also serves to provide a security check and some social contact for homebound people, reducing worry of family members who may not be able to visit every day.
